Job summary

Capital Blue Cross is seeking an Accounting professional to support general ledger activities, reconciliations, and statutory reporting in a hybrid role based in Harrisburg, PA. This position requires GAAP knowledge and experience with Excel and ERP systems, particularly Workday.

You will collaborate with multiple departments, participate in audits, and help maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares general ledger subsidiary schedules, journals and work papers including balancing and posting.
• Prepares accounting schedules, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for internal reporting and audits.
• Reviews own work for accuracy; prepares forms and financial statements for statutory reporting.
• Uses Workday as our primary ERP; may support special projects.
• Provides support to periodic audits.
• Prepares and maintains system documentation.

Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market-driven rates.

Location:

This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work in Harrisburg, PA on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of GAAP.

Experience:

2 years of relevant accounting experience.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field or additional 4 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
