Brevard County's Transit Services Department is seeking a permanent financial professional to monitor, maintain, review, and analyze all financial records, including the budget, for a large division.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years of professional accounting experience; knowledge of budgeting processes and internal controls is preferred; a Florida driver's license may be required. Occasional supervisory responsibilities may be assigned.

$2,102.03 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled professional work in monitoring, maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing all financial records, including the budget, of a large division or department involving extremely large sums of money. Employees in this classification are responsible for the independent maintenance of complex accounting records which requires familiarity with the functions, policies, and practices of the Transit Services Department. May supervise subordinate staff.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of professional experience in accounting or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Working knowledge of Federal Transit Administration Transit Award Management System (TrAMS) and Florida Department of Transportation Transit Data Management System (TransCIP 2.0) is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
