Base Pay Range

$38.00/hr - $43.00/hr

Job Title: Accountant II – Finance (AIIF)

Location: Jersey City, NJ - Hybrid, 4x/week

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant II – Finance (AIIF) to support the preparation of regulatory reports for a broker‑dealer. This role is responsible for assisting with end‑to‑end reporting processes, transforming financial data into accurate, actionable information, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytically minded, and highly proficient in Excel, with the ability to work efficiently with large datasets and support ad hoc projects in a fast‑paced finance environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory reports for a broker‑dealer
  • Support end‑to‑end reporting processes by retrieving, aggregating, and calculating financial data
  • Transform raw data into reporting outputs used in regulatory filings
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data exceptions and discrepancies
  • Perform reconciliations and control checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze large datasets using advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Support ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned
  • Create, update, and enhance written desktop procedures and documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and similar functions
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting regulatory or financial reporting within a broker‑dealer or financial services environment
  • Familiarity with Power BI, PowerPoint, and Power Query
  • Ability and willingness to expand technical and analytical skills as business needs evolve
Software & Technology Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and beyond)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of Power BI and Power Query, with the ability to dive deeper when needed
