Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work overtime during heavy workloads.
  • Proficiency with GAAP and SAP for healthcare-related contracts.
  • Strong communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general, cash management/treasury or cost accounting activities
  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries, accruals and reclassifications
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank accounts and reports
  • Prepare documentation for reconciling journal entries and recommend process improvements
  • Gather, validate and summarize accounting or statistical data
  • Maintain cost accounting allocation tables using labor, organization, space, line-of-business, workload and other statistical data
  • Prepare and analyze administrative cost and budget reports
  • Investigate budget variances across departments, divisions, lines of business and activity categories
  • Handle miscellaneous invoicing and coordinate reimbursements
  • Prepare marketing incentive worksheets for monthly journal entries and payroll
  • Cross-train on various jobs to provide backup support
  • Prepare major sections of corporate and subsidiary GAAP and SAP financial statements
  • Review, analyze, investigate and report significant fluctuations between financial statement periods
  • Coordinate with other plans and departments
  • Provide auditors with reconciliations, schedules and adjustments and answer audit questions
  • Investigate unusual transactions and coordinate resolution of inaccuracies
  • Analyze cost trends and allocations and update allocation tables
  • Mentor and assist with onboarding new team members
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred

  • Ability to work flexible hours during heavy workloads
  • Thorough knowledge of PC and mainframe software and systems used by the Company
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of staff and management
  • Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated accounting knowledge in financial reporting and general accounting, including GAAP and SAP for health care service contractors and HMOs as promulgated by NAIC, based on area of expertise
  • Demonstrated accounting knowledge in cost accounting, including CAS, FAR, GAAP and SAP, based on area of expertise
  • Demonstrated accounting knowledge in government accounting, including FEHBAR, FAR, CAS and GAAP, based on area of expertise
  • Ability to solve questions related to assigned functions and propose answers
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies highly desired
  • May be required to work overtime and outside normal business hours
  • Background check required
  • Must have access to a personal mobile device for MFA

Demonstrates strong accounting expertise in financial reporting, cost accounting, and government accounting, with proficiency in GAAP and SAP. Capable of analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and providing insights for budget management and process improvements.
