Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in energy.
• Strong knowledge of Operated/Non-Operated Wells and Quorum systems.
• Analytical skills with attention to detail and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; good communication.
• Proactive approach to identifying issues and improvements.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with financial software.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Details

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• 1. Managing all aspects of revenue accounting, including the preparation and review of monthly revenue and deferred revenue journal entries.
• 2. Conducting regular audits to ensure that revenue is being accurately recorded and reported.
• 3. Collaborating with the operations and finance teams to understand and analyze production volumes, sales, and pricing.
• 4. Assisting in the implementation of new revenue recognition standards and procedures.
• 5. Providing consulting services to clients in the Energy industry, including advising on best practices for revenue accounting and financial reporting.
• 6. Overseeing the monthly close process for revenue, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner.
• 7. Preparing and presenting financial reports and analyses to senior management and clients.
• 8. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• 9. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards.

• 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with other financial software.
• 9. CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA certification is preferred.
