Job summary

Gunnison County is seeking an Accounting/Finance professional to perform accounting functions, support reporting and audits, and assist with grants and annual budgeting. You will coordinate with department heads to address financial needs and ensure accurate reconciliations.

The role requires a four-year degree in accounting and at least three years of accounting/finance experience, with knowledge of public sector requirements preferred. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting or finance work, or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary

Performs accounting functions and provides financial support to the County including reporting, audits, grants, administration, annual budgeting, reconciliations, and other special financial reporting and projects. Correspond with County Department Heads and their delegates to support their financial needs and questions.

Pay Rate

Starting hourly range is from $32.06 to $36.50 depending on experience, plus full benefits.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Must complete IC S 100 and IC S 700 within the first year of employment.

Qualifications/Education

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting. Degrees in finance, business or public administration, with an emphasis in accounting, or a closely related field, may be considered, and
