Job summary

Gunnison County seeks an experienced accountant to provide financial support through reporting, audits, grants, annual budgeting, reconciliations and special projects. You will correspond with department heads and delegates to support their financial needs and questions.

Starting hourly range is from $32.06 to $36.50, plus full benefits. Requirements include a valid Colorado driver’s license and ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• Three years of progressively responsible accounting or finance work.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions and provide financial support including reporting, audits, grants, and budgeting.
• Reconcile accounts and handle special financial projects and reporting.
• Communicate with department heads and delegates to support financial needs and questions.
