Job summary

Tandym-Group is seeking an Accountant II in Charlotte, NC for a hybrid role supporting payroll accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis in a dynamic corporate environment.

The role requires 4+ years of general ledger experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong Excel skills (PivotTables and VLOOKUPs), and the ability to collaborate across payroll, tax, and technology teams. Schedule is Monday–Friday with four days onsite and one day remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 4+ years of general ledger or accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills with PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare retroactive payroll adjustment journal entries related to a system conversion.
• Analyze on-cycle and off-cycle payroll variances and determine whether adjustments are needed.
• Research, compile, and document payroll variance support, including root causes and impacts.
• Prepare workpapers and reconciliations that meet management and audit standards.
• Partner with payroll, tax, and technology teams to support accounting activities and resolve discrepancies.
