Job summary

Atlas Copco Airpower N.V. is seeking an Accountant II for our Bozeman, MT office. You will collaborate with the Finance team to manage the accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and tax processes.

You will support payroll backups and intercompany activities while upholding GAAP or IFRS standards and strong internal controls. On-site role with opportunities for professional growth and cross-functional exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP or IFRS is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficient with ERP or bookkeeping software.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end close reconciliation and journal entries.
  • Support internal reporting needs including KPI reporting.
  • Ensure financial controls and governance.
  • Review transactions for accuracy and completeness; implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal audits.
  • Intercompany reporting and transactions.
  • Backup for payroll processing.

Job description

The Accountant II plays a crucial role within the Finance and Accounting team. Working with the Accounts Specialist and Controller, they are responsible or involved in all aspects of the accounting cycle, overseeing aspects of transactions, journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting, budgeting, expense processing, and taxes, ensuring the smooth operation of the financial processes.

  • Month-end close reconciliation, transactions, journal entries
  • Supporting various internal reporting needs, such as KPI reporting
  • Ensuring financial controls and good corporate governance are followed
  • Reviewing financial transactions for accuracy and completeness and launching corrective actions
  • Participating in internal audits
  • Intercompany reporting and transactions
  • Serving as a backup for payroll
  • Advising on best GAAP or IFRS best practices
  • Serving as a backup for entering and processing AP invoices
  • Serving as a backup for entering and processing AR invoices
  • Working with our tax team in reporting and compliance
  • Reviewing compliance with internal procedures and writing or editing work instructions and policies
  • Monitoring cost accounting, including part standard costs, production rates and standards
  • Managing and monitoring the reimbursement and expense processes
  • Financial statement preparation and reporting
Min Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years’ relevant work experience.
  • A strong knowledge of accounting functions including GAAP or IFRS
  • Can professionally and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other employees
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Knowledge of or experience with ERP or bookkeeping software
