Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America in Rock Island, IL, seeks an Accountant to enhance agency sales compensation analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will support profitability reporting and month-end close activities while building subject-matter knowledge of agency compensation programs that drive performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and comfortable collaborating with internal partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• Experience in accounting, financial analysis, payroll, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to interpret, reconcile, and analyze financial and compensation-related data.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaborate across the organization.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Compensation Analytics & Reporting: prepare recurring reports on agency sales compensation and trends.
• Assist with analysis of sales compensation programs and data calculations.
• Build working knowledge of agency compensation programs and respond to routine questions.
• Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting: assist in budgets and variance analysis.
• Support forecasted sales production and compensation projections.
• Compile historical production and compensation data for long-term planning.
• Data Management & Financial Insight: collect, verify, reconcile data; prepare schedules and journal entries.
• Assist with distribution system profitability reporting.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement: work with teams to improve processes and data quality.
• Participate in special projects related to compensation, planning, and analytics.
