Job summary

Jones-Hamilton Co. is seeking an Accountant I to support day-to-day accounting activities within the Finance department. You will maintain financial records, assist with reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes under the Accounting Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or chemical industry preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, invoices, and expense reports.
• Assist with the annual budget process.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Participate in audits and provide requested documentation as needed.
• Maintain General Ledger entries and account balances for accuracy.
• Support AP, journal entries, and reconciliations for subsidiary companies.
• Assist with fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and asset records.
