Job summary

TekniPlex is seeking a Staff Accountant I to perform entry level accounting across balance sheet accounts under the Controller's supervision. You'll apply GAAP principles and support month-end close and audit activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 1–3 years of related experience.
• Strong math aptitude with ability to analyze numbers accurately.
• Manufacturing industry accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; Access helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review account analyses and reconciliations; include month-end/year-end journal entries.
• Create monthly workpapers for Balance Sheet ending balances.
• Understand and document process flows and research accounting transactions.
• Maintain working knowledge of GAAP; assist with Accounts Payable GL coding.
• Inventory management: cycle counts and system updates.
• Assist with budget work for new year and year-end audit tasks.
• Manage fixed assets and retain asset invoices; perform other duties as assigned.

What is the role where you will make an impact?

Staff Accountant:

Under direct supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant I will be responsible for performing entry level accounting functions covering a broad range of reconciling and analyzing a variety of balance sheet accounts. The Staff Accountant I will have working knowledge in Accounting and will have the ability to apply standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

What will you do in this role?

• Preparing and reviewing account analysis/reconciliations. Includes month end/year end work of creating and entering Journal Entries
• Creation of monthly workpapers for Balance Sheet ending balances
• Understanding and documenting process flows
• Researching and documenting accounting transactions
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Accounts Payable Vendor GL Coding
• Inventory Management – Cycle Counts creation and entering updates in system
• Budget Work (setting up costs for new year)
• Year end audit work
• Fixed Asset Management – Keep copies of invoices for fixed asset purchases
• Other duties as assigned

What skills do you bring?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possesses strong math aptitude, work accurately with numbers, good organization skills and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment. Strong analytical ability and thorough understanding of computer systems and accounting principles.
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus.
• Possesses strong math aptitude, work accurately with numbers, good organization skills and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment. Strong analytical ability and thorough understanding of computer systems and accounting principles.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels.
• Requires a strong Team player
• Experience in LN or other ERP systems a plus

The compensation range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 plus bonus potential.
