Job summary

MW Partner is seeking an organized Revenue Accountant to manage critical revenue recognition processes in a fast-paced environment. You will perform month-end close activities, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure SOX and GAAP compliance across revenue streams.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of accounting experience, proficiency with Oracle ERP, and advanced Excel skills. The role requires independence, teamwork, and the ability to meet tight deadlines within a dynamic business

Responsibilities

• Ensure revenue recognition is booked accurately, timely, and in compliance with SOX controls and GAAP standards.
• Month-end close activities for revenue recognition including journal entries, revenue calculations and accruals.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Services to set up sales orders.
• Respond to inquiries on revenue variances related to media orders.
• Resolve data ingestion issues and ensure Oracle accepts order details for revenue recognition.
• Process delivery adjustments for media ad sales orders.
• Provide training and process improvements with Sales and Client Services.
• Guide Sales and business operations on revenue recognition issues.
• Assist with quarterly SOX audits, internal and external audit requests.
• Participate in ad-hoc revenue analyses and projects.

Job description

Responsibilities and duties:

• Ensure revenue recognition is booked accurately, timely, and in compliance with SOX controls and GAAP standards
• Month-end close activities for revenue recognition including but not limited to journal entries, revenue calculations and accruals
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Work with Sales and Client Services teams to ensure the proper setup of sales orders
• Research and respond to inquiries fromSales and Client Service teams on revenue variances related to media orders
• Resolve the sales order data ingest exceptions and ensure the order details are accurately ingested into Oracle for revenue recognition
• Process delivery adjustments for media ad sales orders
• Work closely with Sales and Client Service teams for ad hoc training and process improvements
• Provide ongoing guidance to the Sales team and business operations on revenue recognition issues, such as identifying and addressing the cause of any adverse revenue recognition impact
• Assist with quarterly SOX audits, internal audit, and external audit requests
• Participate in ad-hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years accounting experience
• Oracle or major ERP experience
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Lookup function, pivot tables, etc.)
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Nice to Have:

• Advertising media industry experience is a plus
• Operative One and Salesforce experience is a plus
