Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) in Florida is seeking an entry-level accounting professional to perform general accounting activities, maintain ledger accounts and support financial statements to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.

This role supports forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, aids in month-end close, and helps with statutory reporting. An Associate’s Degree with 0–3 years’ experience is required; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree required; 0–3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of relevant education &/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Analyses current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

Job Summary

Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit‑and‑loss statements and capital expenditure schedules | Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles | Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget | Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports | Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects

Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate’s Degree and 0‑3 years’ experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Finance or Accounting degree preferred
  • Additional certifications: CPA preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Account reconciliation. Balance sheet analysis. Bank reconciliation. Calculate depreciation. Financial accounting. Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
