Flagstar Bank in Troy, MI is seeking an Accountant responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information and timely reporting of financial transactions. The role includes determining journal entries, reconciling variances, and preparing disclosures.

Ideal candidates hold an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with 1+ year of accounting experience; a Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred. Travel is minimal and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related.
• Minimum experience required: 1+ Years in Accounting.
• Master’s Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related preferred.
• CPA designation preferred.

Responsabilités

• Record financial transactions in the ledger and maintain required documentation; explain reconciling items.
• Prepare and disclose financial reports following GAAP requirements; respond to accounting questions.
• Ensure accounting controls; document procedures and comply with legal financial requirements.
• Participate in and complete accounting projects.
• Guide accounting clerical staff and coordinate activities.
