Qualifications

  • Three years of full-time professional accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

Accountant, Financial Reporting

Salary: $46,823.00 - $54,626.00 Annually

Description Perform professional accounting duties involving the general ledgers, accounts receivable, cash receipts and other areas as required; communicate the results of operations both orally and in writing; work with college personnel and outside agencies to establish and maintain grants and programs.

Examples of Duties Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions: Assist with the development of, monitor, and manage operating, project, and grant budgets. Provide financial reporting and analysis. Prepare reports and reimbursement request for all grants. Ensure accurate accounting, reconciliations, and audit-ready records. Prepare and distribute monthly budget reports for grants and special projects. Ensure financial compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and sponsor requirements. Support proposal budgeting, reporting, and audit activities. Collaborate with leadership, faculty, industry partners, and customers. Work collaboratively and closely with administrative assistants to complete financial and operational tasks. Participate in professional development activities and required employee training.

Marginal Functions: May assist in the registration of students when necessary. Attend a variety of workshops and meetings; stay abreast of new developments in the field of accounting. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Working Conditions

Knowledge of: Knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). Generally accepted accounting principles and procedures. Principles and practices of budgeting and financial auditing. Modern office methods, practices, procedures and computer equipment. Governmental accounting principles and practices. Financial research and report preparation methods and techniques. Laws regulating public finance and fiscal operations. Automated accounting and financial management systems. College policies and procedures. English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Ability to: Develop and implement accounting system modifications. Analyze and interpret complex financial and accounting records. Prepare a variety of complex financial statements, reports and analysis. Develop and administer an efficient records management system. Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws, and regulations. Interpret, explain, and enforce CCC&TI policies and procedures. Work independently in the absence of supervision. Utilize computer equipment and software to produce complex reports, informational items, tracking systems and related documents. Examine and verify a wide variety of financial documents and reports. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Environmental Conditions: Office environment; working closely with others; exposure to computer screens; may work irregular hours.

Physical Conditions: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Experience and Training

Experience: Three years of full-time increasingly responsible professional accounting experience is required.

Training: A bachelors' degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (UDDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with major course work in accounting, business administration or a related field required.

A Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
