Hybrid work arrangement with 2–3 days from home; requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and non-profit sector experience; strong Excel and accounting software skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, with two years related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with one year experience required
  • Computer literate; ability to work with a range of computer programs including financial data base such as Quicken and Quickbooks, Lotus 1-2-3 or other general ledger software, spreadsheets, databases, check printing programs, and word processing programs, as well as Microsoft Suite
  • Minimum of 1-year of experience in a non-profit sector
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
  • Performs general accounting tasks which may include accounts payable tasks, accounts receivable tasks, making bank deposits and transfers, maintaining cash journal, and general journal.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as GL accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Maintains budgets for all programs.
  • Works with Program Directors in managing budgets, funding, and spending. Ensure monthly P&L reports provided timely and accurately, or more frequently if necessary.
  • Assists Program Directors in preparing required reporting for all funding sources.
  • Prepares monthly and annual financial closeout reports, including budget to actual reports. Reconciles issues.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing expenses, budget allocations, assets, liabilities and capital. Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statements, trail balance and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
  • Attends monthly P&L meeting with Program Directors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year commensurate with experience.

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications :
