Job summary

Symbiotic Services is seeking a General Manufacturing Accountant to support two manufacturing facilities. This role handles general ledger, fixed asset, and inventory accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include cost accounting, month-end close with journal entries, inventory reconciliations, asset management, and support for audits and tax reporting. ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with cost accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• ERP/accounting systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing and posting monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
• Analyze financial data and perform account reconciliations, including: trend analysis, work-in-process (WIP) analysis, detailed general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support quarterly and annual audits by responding to auditor requests and providing required documentation.
• Extract and prepare financial data for internal and external tax reporting and other required schedules.
• Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal accounting controls.
• Manage fixed asset accounting for both book and tax purposes, including acquisitions, transfers, assets placed in service, retirements.
• Participate in physical inventory activities, including cycle counts and fixed asset inventories.
• Reconcile inventory balances and record adjustments for raw materials, fixed assets, and other inventory accounts.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as assigned.

Required Education

Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
