Job description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to support multiple clients across various industries. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a client-facing environment, and can confidently manage full-cycle accounting with minimal oversight.

This is a fully remote, independent contractor position. However, we're looking for someone open to occasional in-office collaboration when it would benefit the team. Candidates must have a reliable home office setup, including a dedicated workspace, dependable high-speed internet, and their own computer and office equipment suitable for professional accounting work. Proficiency with basic business software, including Microsoft Office (or equivalent productivity tools), is required. The ability to work independently in a virtual environment, maintain data security, and reliably access client systems and cloud-based software is essential.

This is a part-time role with an expected workload of 10–20 hours per week, with the ideal candidate consistently available for a minimum of 10 hours weekly. Hours may fluctuate based on client needs and onboarding volume, with the potential for additional hours as the company grows. Candidates should be comfortable with a flexible schedule and interested in growing with the organization as capacity and demand increase.

This is a demanding position requiring dedication, accountability, and a strong work ethic. While this is a part-time remote role, it requires commitment to a defined schedule and availability during core business hours. We're looking for self-motivated professionals who understand that remote work means working hard from home, not working less.
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for multiple clients.
  • Set up new client entities in QuickBooks Online from onboarding through go-live, including designing appropriate charts of accounts, configuring products and services, establishing class and location tracking when applicable, and creating customized financial and management reports.
  • Integrate QuickBooks Online with third-party applications such as payroll, bill pay, expense management, and other client-specific tools.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
  • Execute journal entries, accruals, and month-end close tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
  • Process payroll and payroll journal entries (depending on client needs).
  • Prepare 1099s, sales tax filings, and other compliance tasks.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and forecasting as needed.
  • Communicate proactively regarding deadlines, questions, and deliverables.
  • Maintain organized digital files and secure handling of sensitive financial documents.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably experience with extensive client portfolio.
  • Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Premier Desktop.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Schedule commitment: Able to work defined hours and maintain regular availability for team collaboration and client needs.
  • Experience with tools like: Bill.com, Stripe, Ramp, Gusto, or Restaurant365 is a plus.
  • Experience managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple QuickBooks Online entities is highly valued.
