Job summary

Venteon and Harvard Resource Solutions are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant or Bookkeeper to support operations in Oakland County, MI. The role focuses on executing accounting tasks and assisting with the month-end close process.

Responsibilities include handling A/P, A/R, reconciliations, journal entries, job-costing, and producing financial reports. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and MS Excel is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; College degree nice to have.
• 4–5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Experience with A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, creating journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Experience with accrual accounting, debits, and credits.
• Project accounting, job-costing, or progress billing experience needed.
• Person who enjoys working with numbers and strives for accuracy.
• Strong MS Excel capability and QuickBooks Online proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure accounting tasks are completed timely and accurately.
• Maintain vendor and customer account information in the system.
• Enter vendor invoices, code to the job/general ledger, and process vendor payments bi-weekly.
• Generate customer invoices according to contract terms including WIP invoices; process sales daily.
• Provide support for month-end close by journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance-sheet accounts.
• Support the broader team with additional bookkeeping tasks as needed to close the books accurately.
