Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine, headquartered in Baton Rouge, is seeking a full-time Accountant to manage accounts payable/receivable and payroll for multiple entities. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and effective collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities include invoicing, adjustments, collections, vendor setup, 1099s, and bi-weekly payroll processing. A Bachelors in Accounting and 3+ years of accounting experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelors in accounting required.
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience including payroll, AP/AR, GL, month-end close.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; ERP/GL system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process billing invoices for assigned locations and multiple cycles.
• Issue client invoices by mail or email within specified timeframes.
• Prepare and process billing adjustments; maintain accurate records.
• Handle AR activities including collections and posting payments.
• Manage accounts payable tasks: vendor setup, payables, checks, 1099s.
• Process bi-weekly payroll, upload ACH, and coordinate with workforce to resolve issues.
• Maintain payroll records and employee data in systems.
• Investigate payroll and billing discrepancies and report to management.
• Track missing timecards and apply billing rules to ensure timely payments.
• Ensure contract terms align with billing and client agreements.
