Job summary

Tempur Sealy is seeking an experienced accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role covers AR/AP, cost accounting, financial reporting and payroll, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial disclosures.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred, strong Microsoft Office skills, and demonstrated attention to detail. This full-time role is based in the United States and offers growth opportunities within a global leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (strongly preferred) or equivalent related experience.
• CPA license or a desire to obtain a CPA license is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting activities across AR/AP, cost accounting, financial reporting, and payroll.
• Conduct reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and assist with internal audit plans.
• Ensure all accounting work follows GAAP.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory disclosures comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to aid accounting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and accuracy.
• Provide ad-hoc support and special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do(Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

• Performa variety of general accounting activitieswithin one or more of the following accounting disciplineareas: AR & AP, Cost Accounting, Financial Reporting, Global Financial Reporting, Internal Auditing, Inventory Control, and Payroll.

• Examplesofgeneral accounting activitiesinclude:accountreconciliations, month-end closing procedures, assisting with the company’s internal audit plan,cost allocation, assist in the development and enhancement of all inventory systems,and othergeneral accountingtasksassigned by management.

• Ensure that allaccountingwork and deliverablesfollowGAAP.

• Assist in ensuring that all necessary financial reports and disclosures are compliant with Sarbanes Oxley and SEC requirements.

• Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to aid in accounting processes and othercompanyobjectives.

• Identify ways to develop and implement best practices to improve existing processes and accuracy.

Salary Range: $64,600-$87,400
