The University of New Mexico located in Albuquerque, NM is hiring an Accountant II to join HSC Financial Services and HSC Contracts and Grants. The role focuses on financial reporting, sponsored projects accounting, and ensuring accurate fiscal services for the campus community.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, 1+ year of related experience, and is capable of supporting complex grant and contract finances within a large public-sector environment.
Bachelor\'s degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(S) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
• CPA/CMA Certification orMaster\'s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency/Expertise:
o Inusing databases for analysis
o WithGASB regulations and other federal and state governmental regulations
• Experience with/in:
oRestricted(sponsored projects) accounting
oTraining in, or experience with Banner Finance or a similar integrated system
o Collectionof accounts receivable
oProfessional accounting in large, private or public-sector environment
