JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant is responsible for working with the Accounting Manager in the processing of contribution and other income activities within TPCC, perform month end account reconciliations and postings. This individual is responsible for contributing to the annual audit, participating in distribution of year end giving statements and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS

• Process weekly contributions, including posting online and check/cash gifts in the contribution system, preparing the bank deposits, running contribution reports and distributing the weekly offering report.
• Process weekly deposit for non-offering receipts.
• Maintain contribution records in the Church Management System ("CMS") and accounting software.
• Post registration deposits/refunds and Square transactions.
• Working knowledge of accounting software and the CMS.
• Assist in preparation work for the annual audit.
• Ensure church financial transactions are processed and reported accurately & with integrity.
• Provide support, as needed, for donors using online giving applications.
• Full working knowledge of TPCC’s Chart of Accounts.
• Prepare letters, as needed, for contributions throughout year and manage distribution of year end giving statements.
• Complete month end reconciliations and postings.
• Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Experience in high level accounting.
• Experience with financial systems & tools, such as Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• 5 – 6 years experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS

• Standing or sitting for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds as necessary.
