Job summary

Skyjack is seeking an Accountant to manage month-end reporting from journal entries through to financial statements. The role includes generating monthly reports, maintaining fixed asset sub-ledger, and performing monthly reconciliations and variance analysis.

Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations, and monthly reports while ensuring deadlines for tax entries and sales matrix are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred, with manufacturing/warehousing experience.
• Five years' leadership experience in commercial finance or banking preferred.
• Four to six years of accounting or related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all journal entries with complete backup in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations and supporting reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly income statements and other monthly reports in a timely manner.
• Assist in preparation of monthly variance analysis reporting.
• Prepare month end reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Analyze and prepare monthly system generated accruals.
• Prepare all fixed asset schedules for year-end audit.
• Assist with the preparation of a twelve-month rolling forecast as required.
• Assist with preparation of annual budget and five-year business plan as required.

Responsibility

• Prepare all journal entries with complete back up in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure all corporate deadlines are met regarding tax entry and sales matrix.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations and supporting reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly income statements and other monthly reports in a timely manner.
• Assist in preparation of monthly variance analysis reporting.
• Prepare month end reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Ensure GL coding is accurate.
• Analyze and prepare monthly system generated accruals.
• Prepare all fixed asset schedules for year-end audit.
• Assist with the preparation of a twelve-month rolling forecast as required.
• Assist with preparation of annual budget and five-year business plan as required.
• Responsible for monitoring and reviewing the quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
• Special projects as required.

Academic/Educational Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and work experience in manufacturing or warehousing is preferred.

Required Skills/Experiences

• A minimum of five years' leadership experience in commercial finance or banking would be preferred.
• Ability to make sound financial decisions and change accounting procedures as needed.
• Minimum four to six years of experience in accounting or in a related area.
• Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practice, and procedures.
• Ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Interact with co-workers and accountants and act as a liaison between different departments.
