Job summary

Jefferson Wells is seeking accounting professionals for contract/consulting roles. Most projects are remote, some hybrid and local to the metro Philadelphia market.

W2 hourly based on experience: $50 – $85 hr. These positions involve close financial analysis, month-end close, audits, budgeting, and collaboration with tax teams across client engagements.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP.
• Experience with SAP and NetSuite.
• Advanced Excel with formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivots.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Organize and update financial records as needed.
• Analyze transactions and prepare reports.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents.
• Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
• Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage AP/AR.
• Participate in budgeting processes.
• Brief senior managers on financial status.
• Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close

• Organize and update financial records as needed.

• Analyze transactions and prepare reports.

• Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.

• Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.

• Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.

• Participate in budgeting processes.

• Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status.

• Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA certification preferred.

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (SAP and NetSuite preferred)

• Advanced MS Excel knowledge (experience with formulas, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
