Job summary

Clampco is seeking an accountant to work closely with the Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely financial reporting at our Ohio facility in Wadsworth.

You will maintain records, assist with month-end close, support analysis, and help improve our ERP usage. 1–5 years of experience and GAAP knowledge are preferred; ERP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must understand GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting tasks and maintain records and prepare financial reports.
• Assist in applying internal controls and GAAP-compliant procedures.
• Maintain chart of accounts and GL structures.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and GL adjustments.
• Support Accounts Payable/Receivable functions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Analyze P&L variances and provide explanations.
• Monitor standard costing variances (labor, material, overhead).
• Review variances before work order closure and communicate findings.
• Prepare and maintain 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Support system and process improvements within finance.
• Audit accounting records and other reports for accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Controller or CFO.

Job description

We are looking for an accountant who will work closely with the Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with financial analysis and reporting. The accountant will also support the effective use and continuous improvement of the company’s ERP system, identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, and contribute to broader financial initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall department effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of accounting tasks including preparing and maintaining accounting records and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports.
• Assist in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and accounting structures.
• Complete journal entries/account reconciliations and general ledger adjustments.
• Support Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Assist in analyzing Profit & Loss variances and provide supporting explanations.
• Assist in monitoring and analyzing standard costing variances (labor, material, and overhead).
• Assist in reviewing variances prior to work order closure and communicate findings to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare and maintain 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Support system and process improvements within the finance function.
• Audit accounting records and other reports for accuracy and conformance to procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• 1 – 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Through understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
