Job summary

Ready Window Sales and Service is seeking an Accountant to manage daily accounting activities and support accurate financial reporting for construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, operations, payroll, and vendors to track project costs, process transactions, and resolve discrepancies.

The successful candidate will handle general ledger entries, job costing, invoicing, and month-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for project decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, construction accounting preferred.
• Experience with job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication with project teams and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile general ledger transactions, bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other expenses by project and cost code.
• Review job cost reports and investigate budget variances or missing costs.
• Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, and supporting documentation as required by each contract.
• Review vendor invoices, match them to purchase orders and project records, and support timely payment.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and help resolve billing disputes.
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and financial reports.
• Coordinate with payroll to verify that labor costs are assigned to the correct projects.
• Maintain organized records for audits, insurance reviews, and project reporting.
• Support the Controller with process improvements and other accounting duties as assigned.
