Job summary

Altis Technology is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our remote finance team. You will support month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

Working closely with cross-functional partners, you will ensure accuracy of records and drive process improvements across high-volume transactions. CPA pursuit is considered an asset, and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Month-end close experience and general accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable, collections, or billing processes is preferred.
• CPA designation pursuit is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other month-end adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and provide analysis and audit documentation.
• Assist with customer invoicing, AR reconciliations, aging reviews and collections follow-ups.
• Investigate billing discrepancies and coordinate with Operations, Sales, and Payroll.

About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an Intermediate level Accountant to join a collaborative Finance team during a busy period of growth and increased business demands. Reporting to the VP, Finance, youll provide hands-on support across month-end close, reconciliations, Accounts Payable and Receivable, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting activities.

Working within a fast-paced professional services environment, youll partner with colleagues across Finance, Operations, Sales, and Payroll to keep financial processes moving smoothly. Your attention to detail and ability to quickly integrate into established processes will help the team maintain accurate records while continuing to improve how work gets done.

Your Responsibilities

• Youll prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other month-end adjustments.
• Youll complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain supporting schedules and working papers.
• Youll support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including reporting packages, analysis, and audit documentation.
• Youll assist with customer invoicing, cash application, AR reconciliations, aging reviews, and collection follow-ups.
• Youll investigate billing discrepancies and partner with Operations, Sales, and Payroll to resolve invoice and payment inquiries.
• Youll support expense reviews, financial recordkeeping, process documentation, and other accounting needs during high-volume periods.

Skills and Qualifications

• 23 years of accounting experience, including hands-on exposure to month-end close activities.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
• Exposure to Accounts Receivable, collections, billing, or other high-volume transaction processes is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is an asset.
• Pursuit of, or interest in, a CPA designation is considered an asset.
