Job summary

Veta Virtual Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join a remote, high-growth fintech client team focused on cryptocurrency and digital assets. You will own monthly close processes, asset reconciliations, and financial reporting for a global kiosk network and OTC desk.

You will leverage GAAP knowledge, NetSuite experience, and advanced Excel skills to ensure precise financial data and controls. A strong English communicator with cross-functional collaboration capabilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals is required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
• Excel proficiency for reconciliations and reporting is essential.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Bonus: interest in fintech and evolving cryptocurrency landscape.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accounting and Finance team with a focus on cryptocurrency transactions and digital asset management.
• Prepare and maintain monthly rollforwards for digital assets and reconcile wallet balances with blockchain data.
• Perform FMV calculations and remeasurements for digital asset holdings; assist with position checks and reconciliations.
• Record crypto donations, rewards, and incentives; manage hardware wallet activity reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close and provide reconciliations and variance explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules; assist in financial reporting schedules.
• Develop spreadsheet reports, verify financial information, and drive process improvements.
• Analyze accounting policies and participate in SOP development and cross-functional projects.

Veta Virtual is hiring an Accountant for one of our high-growth clients in the Fintech and Cryptocurrency industry. This is a unique, forward-thinking accounting role built for someone who combines strong foundational accounting skills with a genuine understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain — supporting digital asset accounting, monthly close processes, and financial reporting for one of the world's largest crypto kiosk networks. Your Role:

As an Accountant, you will support the Accounting and Finance team with a focus on cryptocurrency-related transactions, digital asset management, and monthly close processes — playing a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data across a global fintech platform operating thousands of kiosks and an OTC trading desk. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Preparing and maintaining monthly rollforwards for BTC, ETH, LTC, and other supported digital assets — ensuring accuracy and completeness across all crypto holdings.
• Reconciling wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers — performing wallet data cleanup, validation, and exception resolution with precision.
• Performing fair market value (FMV) calculations and remeasurements for digital asset holdings — and supporting position checks and proof-of-reserves style reconciliations.
• Processing and accounting for crypto donations, rewards, and incentives — and recording and reconciling hardware wallet activity including Trezor and cold storage.
• Preparing and posting journal entries for month-end close — including balance sheet account reconciliations, flux analysis, and variance explanations.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules — and assisting in preparing financial reporting schedules and audit support packages.
• Developing spreadsheet reports, verifying financial information, and reconciling accounts — contributing to a culture of accuracy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Analyzing current accounting policies and procedures — recommending improvements, contributing to SOP development, and supporting cross-functional teams on accounting processes.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of related accounting experience — with hands-on exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals is required — this role is specifically focused on digital asset accounting and crypto transaction processing.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite — particularly Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail — you meet deadlines, maintain accuracy under pressure, and never let things slip through the cracks.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills — able to collaborate clearly with cross-functional teams and respond to information requests accurately and promptly.
• Bonus: passion for fintech and the evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
• Bonus: experience with Alteryx, Tableau, or similar data and BI tools.
• Bonus: exposure to multi-entity or international accounting environments.
