Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our growing multi-state medical practice. This role is best suited for an Accountant who is looking to make an immediate impact on a start-up company with rapid growth and change. Our Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting monthly financial reporting, and review and preparing corporate tax returns, payroll, and supervising accounts receivable & accounts payable for our company.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
• Maintain P&L and chart of accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist balance sheet reconciliations and support schedules
• Oversee vendor relationships, including onboarding, communication, and performance tracking
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve billing or service issues in a timely manner
• Process accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Manage purchasing records, vendor onboarding, and order tracking
• Review purchase orders for accuracy and policy compliance
• Review and manage employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance
• Track and analyze purchasing trends to support cost-saving initiatives
• Collaborate with department heads to monitor spending and flag variances
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies
• Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance workflow and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and HR
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role
• Proficiency with Quickbooks
• Intermediate Excel skills (including VLookup, pivot tables, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
