Job summary

GEOTEK is seeking an Accountant for our Stewartville, MN headquarters. This role supports a hybrid work model, with at least 3 days on site, and reports to the Accounting Department. Base pay ranges from $65,000 to $95,000 per year.

The ideal candidate will hold a 4-year Accounting degree, have 1–2 years of experience, and possess strong Excel and communication skills to work with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 4-year Accounting bachelor degree required, 1-2 years experience preferred.
• Strong computer knowledge and excellent Excel skills required.
• Effective communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues across departments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and analyze gross margin and sales dashboards.
• Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.
• Execute month-end close including prepaid expenses, commissions, interest, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end audit documentation and reconciliations.
• Provide backup for other accounting tasks and support inventory costing and internal audits.
• Take on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Description

We are currently seeking an Accountant with experience in a manufacturing environment.

GEOTEK is an internationally recognized designer, manufacturer, and distributor of reinforced fiberglass pultrusion products for the electric utility market. The position is located at the Corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility based in Stewartville, MN. Geotek supports a hybrid work location with at least 3 days on site.

The Accountant is a key role in the Accounting Department with a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual duties including:

• Financial Statement Analysis such as Gross Margin and Sales Dashboard reporting
• Variance Analysis and investigating financial account discrepancies
• Month-end close procedures that include, but are not limited to, prepaid expenses, commissions, interest, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ad Hoc and independent project work as assigned
• Documentation and account reconciliations for the year-end audit
• Backup to other accounting team members for daily and weekly tasks such as internal audit procedures, inventory and costing tracking, and other transactional items.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 4-year Accounting Bachelor degree required, 1-2 years of experience preferred at minimum.
• Strong computer knowledge and excellent skills in Excel are required
• Effective communication skills, oral and written, are essential as this position will work with customers, vendors, and colleagues across various departments
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task

The compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions
