Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5–10 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or electrical supply.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, cost accounting, and month-end close processes.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general ledger activities, including posting month-end journal entries, prepaid accounts, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Manage depreciation and asset recording processes.
  • Support treasury functions including cash management and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare month-end sales and gross margin reports with accuracy.
  • Provide backup for accounts payable/receivable tasks.
  • Review blocked orders with Sales and Accounting teams to resolve issues.
  • Support month-end close activities and related tasks.

Accountant Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant from the manufacturing industry. As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for managing critical accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, month-end journal entries, reconciliations, cost accounting, and financial reporting. You will also provide support for treasury functions, accounts payable/receivable, and collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is vital to ensuring the accuracy of our financial operations and supporting the overall success of the company.

Accountant Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including posting month-end journal entries, managing prepaid accounts, accruals, and conducting account reconciliations.
  • Depreciation Process: Manage the depreciation process and ensure accurate and timely recording of asset depreciation.
  • Treasury and Cash Management: Assist with treasury functions, including cash management and bank reconciliations.
  • Month-End Reporting: Prepare month-end sales and gross margin reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable Support: Serve as a backup for accounts payable and receivable tasks as needed.
  • Blocked Orders Review: Review the blocked orders customer list and collaborate with the Sales and Accounting teams to resolve any issues.
  • Cost Accounting: Perform cost rolls and assist the Controller with updating labor and overhead rates.
  • Month-End Close: Support the Controller with month-end close activities and other tasks as assigned.
Accountant Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the electrical supply or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, cost accounting, and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
