Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dedicated Permanent Accountant to join our healthcare-focused finance team in Sarasota, FL. The role emphasizes audit, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations within a fast-paced environment. You will help ensure accurate financial operations and strong internal controls.

Qualified candidates have at least 5 years of accounting experience, GAAP mastery, and strong Excel skills. CPA/CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other reports for accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and address discrepancies.
• Participate in planning and execution of internal and external audits.
• Develop and document accounting systems and processes.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and obligations to project future earnings and advise accordingly.
• Develop and maintain budgets, preparing reports comparing budgeted vs actual costs.
• Provide accurate financial reporting to management on time.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws and advise on actions.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather information and provide financial guidance.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Accountant to join our dynamic team in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of accounting knowledge, particularly in audit, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations. This role will play a crucial part in our financial department, ensuring our organization's financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. 1. 1. Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
2. 2. Perform regular bank reconciliations, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
3. 3. Participate in the planning and execution of both internal and external audits.
4. 4. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
5. 5. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
6. 6. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
7. 7. Provide financial reporting to management, ensuring all information is accurate, comprehensive, and submitted on time.
8. 8. Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
9. 9. Coordinate with other departments to gather information, resolve issues, and provide financial guidance.
10. 10. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

1. 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the healthcare industry.
3. 3. Proven experience in audit, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations.
4. 4. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
5. 5. Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. 6. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. 7. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
8. 8. Outstanding problem-solving and organization skills.
9. 9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. 10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. 11. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
