Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Accountant to help build and support its growing internal accounting function in a hybrid San Ramon, CA role.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, owning multiple accounting processes, improving workflows, and partnering with operations across the business; requires 5+ years' experience and a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; strong Excel and ERP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of AP/AR, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing, collections, payment administration, and account maintenance.
• Prepare customer invoices, monitor cash receipts, and resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
• Maintain vendor records, process payments, and ensure appropriate approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
• Support project-based accounting activities, including revenue tracking, billing, and reconciliation processes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close schedules.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with maintaining accurate general ledger records.
• Support financial reporting, accounting analysis, and year-end close activities.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting processes, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and provide a high level of internal and external customer service.
