Job summary

Moog Medical Devices Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a onsite or hybrid role in Salt Lake City, Utah. The successful candidate will reconcile accounts, analyze variances, assist with closing processes, and support external audits within a healthcare/regulatory environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years in financial accounting, strong MS Excel, ERP knowledge, and effective communication. CPA preferred; relocation assistance may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of three years in financial accounting, auditing or reporting.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, internal controls, and US-GAAP.
• Strong MS Excel skills and ability to handle complex spreadsheets.
• Analytical and clear written and verbal communication; able to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Analyze accounts and determine period-end accruals.
• Report variances from budget and prior periods to management.
• Support annual external audit with documentation and inquiries.
• Assist monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare financial statements.
• Assist with annual budget process and accounting policy updates.
• Engage in cross-training to understand company processes and operations.
• Contribute to special projects and other ad hoc duties.

Moog Medical Devices Group specializes in designing, manufacturing, and distributing industry-leading enteral feeding and infusion pumps. We are looking for a Staff Accountant in an onsite or hybrid role in Salt Lake City, Utah.

To be considered for the Staff Accountant role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in the areas of financial accounting, auditing, and/or financial reporting.
• Knowledge of ERP business systems, internal controls, and US-GAAP.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel: maintaining and creating complex spreadsheets, performing complex functions, etc.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and ability to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or other regulated industries and CPA preferred.

As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts at period end and prepare corresponding journal entries.
• Perform analysis of various accounts and transactions to determine period-end accruals.
• Analyze financial data and report on variances from budgeted and prior period amounts; provide management with insight and understanding of significant fluctuations.
• Support the annual external audit by responding to auditor inquiries and providing supporting documentation.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, including financial statement preparation, reporting and review.
• Support the preparation of the annual budget process.
• Assist with the development, review, and updating of accounting policies and procedures.
• Engage in cross-training initiatives to develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s processes and financial operations.
• Work on special projects and perform other ad hoc duties.
• Responsibilities are dynamic and changing as Moog and its structure evolve.

Salary Range Transparency

Salt Lake City, UT $80,000.00-$105,000.00 Annually
