Job summary

Moog Medical Devices Group in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve profitability within FDA-regulated settings by developing new production lines for lean, repeatable launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline from a four-year accredited university, with 3+ years relevant experience.
• Statistical analysis and understanding of DOE.
• Technical writing for highly regulated environment.
• Fixture design experience.
• SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and produce working prototypes.
• Understanding of basic/digital/analog electronics principles.
• Understand BOMs and product structures.
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong negotiation abilities.
• Proven ability to lead automation projects from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve production issues, field failures, and customer complaints quickly.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Design and optimize tools, equipment, and documentation for assembly, testing, and repair.
• Support lean manufacturing and Kaizen/Gemba activities.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure smooth implementation.
• Provide hands-on engineering support and training to production teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
• Execute IQ, OQ, PQ validations for transfers and changes.
• Collaborate with customers on project requirements and updates.
• Establish preventive maintenance and calibration programs for equipment.
• Investigate nonconformities and manage CAPAs.
• Oversee CAPEX projects including budgeting and reporting.
• Present updates to local and corporate leadership.
• Champion lean culture to reduce waste and maximize productivity.

Your mission is to enhance the profitability of Moog products within FDA-regulated environments, meeting customer demand and expectations. You will focus on the development of new production lines to ensure that a repeatable and lean process is in place for production launch of new products.

To be considered for the Manufacturing Engineer position, here’s what you will typically need…

• Bachelor’s (B.S.) in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline from a four-year accredited university, with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience
• Statistical analysis along with an understanding of the Design of Experiments
• Technical writing for highly regulated environment
• Fixture design
• Solidworks, or other 3D modeling software
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and produce working prototypes
• Have an understanding of Basic, Digital electronics principles and Analog electronics
• Understanding of bills of materials and product structures.
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead automation projects from concept to implementation

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will…

• Resolve production issues, field failures, and customer complaints quickly and effectively.

• Support lean manufacturing efforts including Kaizen and Gemba activities.

• Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation and reports.
• Execute validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new product transfers and process changes.
• Collaborate with customers on project requirements and development updates.
• Establish preventive maintenance and calibration programs for production equipment.
• Investigate nonconforming materials and manage corrective actions (CAPAs).
• Oversee capital projects (CAPEX), including budgeting and reporting.
• Present project updates and issue resolutions to local and corporate leadership.
• Champion a lean culture focused on reducing waste and maximizing productivity.

Salary Range Transparency

Salt Lake City, UT $75,000.00–$100,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
