Los Rios Community College District is seeking an experienced accounting/financial analyst to handle complex accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis across district departments. You will work under supervision to ensure accuracy of transactions, prepare reports, and support audits and grant administration.

The role requires two years of related experience and a relevant degree or equivalent combination.

  • Review grants, contracts, and budgets for compliance; support annual district audit preparation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff on fiscal procedures and reporting.

Position Summary

Under direction of assigned supervisor/manager, perform complextechnical and analytical accounting, budgeting, and other financialor statistical activities within a department of the businessservices administration. These positions are typically assigned toaccounting, budget, payroll, insurance, student attendance,financial aid, auxiliary services, or other business areas wherethe technical nature of the job requires in-depth understanding ofthese functions.

Typical Duties

Adapt accounting and recordkeeping functions using budgeting, cost,general, property, and tax accounting computerized systems; analyzerecords of financial transactions to determine accuracy andcompleteness of entries and make additions and corrections;establish budget numbers and assign to transactions; providetechnical assistance in the analysis of accounting and otherfiscally related issues; perform accounting duties in the overallestablishment, maintenance and control of accounts, cash, and fundsof the District, including management of vault activity; assist indepartment's organization and workflow; process the collection ofreturned checks including maintenance of student records; reviewtransactions for compliance with District procedures, federal,state and local laws, policies and regulations; prepare financialreports and analysis for accounting, budget, payroll, and personneland related matters, including reporting for programs withrestricted funds; perform the annual closing and reopening of theDistrict's campus-based accounts; audit contracts, and preparereports to substantiate transactions prior to settlement; serve asa resource for Account Clerks and other staff; maintain and analyzebudgets, and prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted to actualcosts, such as the preparation and submission of complex budget andjournal entries; prepare required analyses, working trial balancesand other schedules required for the District's annual audit;compute taxes owed, ensure compliance with tax payment, reporting,and other tax requirements; assist in the improvement of Districtfiscal processes and procedures; inventory real property andequipment, and record description, value, location, depreciation,and other information; review submitted grants and contracts forbudget, contract language, and compliance issues. Perform relatedduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience related to the duties ofthe position.

EDUCATION: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting,business with a concentration in accounting, or a related field;OR, a bachelor's degree in any discipline AND oneadditional year of qualifying experience; OR, satisfactorycompletion of 60 semester units of course work AND twoadditional years of qualifying experience.
