Job summary

Green Key Resources is seeking an Accountant to join an Alternative Investment Accounting team within a large financial services organization in a hybrid role based in Virginia. The role supports accounting and financial reporting for an alt investment portfolio, ensuring strong internal controls and process improvements.

Responsibilities include U.S. GAAP and statutory reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and investment transaction reviews, with collaboration across Finance to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
• 2–5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or statutory accounting and reporting experience.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting information clearly.
• Experience with alternative investments or SOX controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research accounting guidance and evaluate its impact on current processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting.
• Assist with accounting policy implementation and business process redesign initiatives.
• Maintain SOX control documentation and help evaluate potential control deficiencies.
• Partner with Finance and other departments to support investment strategies and business initiatives.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.
