PIPESTONE is hiring an Accountant in Pipestone, MN, to maintain financial records and prepare reports for farrow-to-wean hog producers. The role involves reconciliations, profitability analysis, and supporting tax-related year-end activities.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, with ACA/CMA certification preferred. Strong teamwork, communication, and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ACA or CMA certification preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in agriculture.
• Basic understanding of tax basis accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records associated with farrow-to-wean hog producers
• Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are accurately recorded
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly
• Manage and reconcile accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, accounts payable, and accrued expenses
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
• Submit weekly and monthly financial reports
• Track farm project costs and determine capitalization versus expensing
• Perform variance analysis
• Assist with year-end close processes, including preparing information for tax preparers
• Support additional accounting projects as needed

About the Role
