Duties and Responsibilities

Aligned is seeking an Accountant to support our financial operations and work closely with our Controller. In-person attendance at the NYC office Monday through Thursday is a requirement of the role. On Fridays, a remote work option is available. This position will be a critical part of Aligned’s operations and will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (creating invoices, journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with U.S GAAP
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses and other general ledger entries
• Record business credit card transactions while tracking approvals
• Prepare bank reconciliations to ensure accurate account balances and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare consolidated financial statements
• Assist Controller with tax, audit, and other year-end preparations and reconciliations
• Provide necessary supporting documentation and invoices to third‑party stakeholders as requested
• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data
• Scan, organize, and maintain company documents in a systematic manner
• Assist with 1099 preparations
• Perform other accounting and bookkeeping tasks as requested by the Controller

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• At least two years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Preferred Qualification: Familiarity with private equity funds

Compensation

• Salary between $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience
• Eligibility for annual bonus
• Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k
