White Lodging Services, Inc. is seeking an Accountant for our Merrillville, Indiana headquarters.

This hybrid role combines three days in-office with two remote days, handling general accounting for a portfolio of hotel properties and ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting across multiple markets. You will manage the full accounting function, prepare financial statements, reconcile ledgers, and handle tax returns while collaborating with a corporate team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 1+ years accounting experience preferred; recent grads welcome.
• Solid general ledger, financial statement prep, and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with multi-state sales/occupancy tax a plus.
• Proficiency with standard accounting software and hotel ERP platforms.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, multi-property environment adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Manage full general accounting function for assigned hotel properties portfolio.
• Prepare periodic hotel income statements and GAAP-compliant financial reports.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts across properties and resolve discrepancies.
• Review daily revenue reports and flag variances for management.
• Prepare monthly sales and occupancy tax returns across markets.
• Create hotel cash flow statements as part of monthly reporting.
• Perform other accounting tasks to support corporate accounting team.

We are hiring an Accountant to join our corporate accounting team at our headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana. This is a hybrid accounting role — three days in our Merrillville corporate office and two days remote — offering the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule alongside the stability and growth potential of one of the country\'s leading hotel development and management companies. As a corporate Hotel Accountant at White Lodging, you\'ll manage the full general accounting function for an assigned group of hotel properties — owning financial statement preparation, general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, sales tax compliance, and ongoing hotel accounting support across multiple markets simultaneously.

What You\'ll Do

• Manage the full general accounting function for an assigned group of hotel properties at a Tier 1 level — serving as the primary accounting point of contact for your hotel portfolio
• Prepare periodic hotel income statements and financial reports with accuracy and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and White Lodging accounting standards
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts across all assigned hotel properties — identifying and resolving discrepancies with a detail-oriented, problem-solving approach
• Review Daily Revenue reports from multiple hotel locations — monitoring performance trends and flagging variances for management review
• Prepare Management Fee and Royalty Fee payments accurately and on schedule in accordance with hotel management agreements
• Prepare monthly Sales and Occupancy Tax returns for all assigned hotel properties — ensuring full compliance with state and local tax regulations across multiple markets
• Prepare hotel cash flow statements as part of the monthly financial reporting cycle
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned to support the broader corporate accounting team and meet business needs

What You\'ll Bring

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting — required
• 1+ years of accounting experience preferred — recent accounting graduates with strong academic foundations are encouraged to apply
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and balance sheet reconciliation
• Working knowledge of sales and occupancy tax preparation — multi-state tax experience a plus
• Proficiency in standard accounting software applications — experience with hotel accounting platforms or ERP systems a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail in a fast-paced, multi-property accounting environment
• Ability to manage multiple hotel assignments and competing deadlines effectively in a team-oriented corporate accounting setting
• Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment — self-directed and productive both in the Merrillville corporate office and remotely
