Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support a high-volume accounting environment. This position will independently perform professional accounting duties, including preparing and analyzing accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting internal and external audits.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of full-time accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to research transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues. Experience with Oracle or another enterprise accounting system is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, cost transfers, and other accounting transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations and analyze differences between subsidiary systems and the general ledger.
- Research transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve or recommend solutions to accounting issues.
- Gather, analyze, and validate accounting data and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial schedules, reports, and month-end workpapers.
- Assist with financial reporting and annual financial statement preparation.
- Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, receipts, and outstanding balances.
- Process and track payment requests and provide payment status updates.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers and supporting accounting records.
- Respond to accounting-related questions from internal departments and external parties.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and transaction-processing issues.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial and operating equipment records as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of full-time professional accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with an accounting emphasis, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience may be considered.
- Advanced/expert Excel skills required.
- Experience with Oracle or similar enterprise accounting systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be able to handle a high-volume workload accurately and effectively.
