Job summary

Hack The Box is seeking an Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting across revenue, payroll, AR/AP, and bank reconciliations within a fast-growing, international setup. You will support monthly close and provide critical financial reporting in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.

You will contribute to tax, audits, and process improvements, leveraging NetSuite and advanced Excel to enhance accuracy and efficiency in a hybrid Athens-based role with flexible remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Experience in a technology or software company is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and verify day-to-day accounting transactions, including revenue, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Own assigned balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare draft tax returns and support internal and external audit processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
• Utilize ERP systems and accounting tools to maintain accurate financial records and improve operational efficiency.
• Support finance process improvements and contribute to cross-functional finance projects in a fast-paced, global environment.

The core mission of the Accountant:

As an Accountant at Hack The Box, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You'll manage day-to-day accounting activities, support month-end close and compliance processes, and contribute to scaling our finance function through process improvements and technology. This role offers exposure to a fast-growing, international business operating across multiple entities, currencies, and payment flows.

The fellowship you’ll be joining:

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Finance team (including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable), as well as with vendors, external partners, and employees to support expense management, payment processing, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial operations.

Location & Work Mode:

• Athens, Attica, Greece
• Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote). Those based within 55 km of our Athens office will follow a hybrid work model. For candidates located beyond that radius, a fully remote arrangement is available.

Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role:

• 2–4 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance department within a complex organization (e.g. multi-entity, international, high-volume transaction environment).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and GAAP/IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system (NetSuite preferred).
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.).
• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in a technology or software company is a strong plus.
