Job summary

Interactive Resources in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing finance team. You will work closely with accounting and finance leadership and support a range of general accounting activities, month-end close, job costing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have 2-5 years of accounting experience, a bachelor's degree, and hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Previous experience with job costing, WIP, project accounting, or construction accounting is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of percentage-of-completion or project-based revenue recognition is a plus.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or another ERP/accounting system preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in an evolving, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with job costing and project-related accounting activities.
• Support preparation of WIP schedules and over/under billing analysis.
• Assist with progress billing, retainage tracking, and revenue recognition.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
• Maintain accurate information within the company's accounting system.
• Assist with accounting process improvements and system/data cleanup.
• Work closely with finance leadership and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
