Job summary

Giga Energy in Houston is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Controllership team. You’ll own key general ledger areas, drive a clean monthly close, and support high-level reporting within a lean, high-performing group working at a pace aligned with our growing AI infrastructure business.

This role emphasizes building financial infrastructure to match business speed, with hybrid onsite expectations at our Houston/San Francisco hubs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of journal entries on a monthly basis.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including preparation of accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Building and owning end-to-end processes for a product P&L, from revenue recognition and AR management to product costs.
• Provide supporting documentation and schedules for external audits and tax preparation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial data.

You’ll own key parts of the general ledger, drive a clean and efficient monthly close, and support the reporting that informs decisions at the highest levels of the company.
