Job summary

Associated Bank’s Corporate Controller’s Group invites you to join a team focused on accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. You’ll perform journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes while partnering with colleagues across the organization to ensure timely and reliable financial information.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPA/CMA certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions through effective follow-up and analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and closing entries.
• Partner with internal teams by providing accounting guidance, researching results, coding invoices, and resolving general ledger questions.
• Prepare and review financial information and supporting schedules for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal, external, and regulatory auditors by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and assist with implementing new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, procedures, and internal financial controls in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.

Role Summary

Support key financial accounting and reporting activities within Associated Bank’s Corporate Controller’s Group. Education & Experience

Required

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification by start date.
• CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification by start date.
