Associated Bank is seeking an accounting professional to support key financial accounting and reporting within the Corporate Controller's Group. You will help ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and strong internal controls while partnering with teams across the organization.

The role offers opportunities to deepen GAAP knowledge and gain experience with SEC filings and banking regulations. A strong emphasis on accuracy and collaboration is highlighted throughout the role.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA/CMA certifications beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and financial analysis.
• Provide accounting guidance to internal teams, code invoices, and resolve GL questions.
• Prepare and review financial information for SEC filings, management reports, and regulator reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide requested documentation.

Role Summary

Support key financial accounting and reporting activities within Associated Bank's Corporate Controller's Group. You'll help ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and effective internal controls while partnering with teams across the organization. This role offers opportunities to deepen your accounting expertise and build knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and banking regulations.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and supporting documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve exceptions through effective follow-up and analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and closing entries.
• Partner with internal teams by providing accounting guidance, researching results, coding invoices, and resolving general ledger questions.
• Prepare and review financial information and supporting schedules for SEC filings, management reports, investor materials, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal, external, and regulatory auditors by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Research GAAP, FASB, SEC, and banking regulations and assist with implementing new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, processes, procedures, and internal financial controls in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.

Education & Experience

Required

• Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience in a team environment.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification by start date.
• CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification by start date.
