Job summary

Peak, a fast-growing financial services firm in Columbus, OH, seeks an Accountant to ensure precise financial reporting, payroll processing, and ledger integrity. You will maintain records, prepare reports, and collaborate with leadership to drive budgeting and controls.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in accounting or finance, with strong GAAP knowledge and experience using QuickBooks or Xero. CPA is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledgers.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor and manage payroll processing and related tax filings.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate data and insights.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external accountants during audits or year-end filings.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and internal controls.
• Provide financial reporting support to leadership and department heads.
