Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, Infor) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Analyze results and investigate variances.
  • Support inventory accounting including reconciliations and cycle counts.
  • Monitor warehouse transactions for financial accuracy.
  • Assist with standard costing and cost allocations.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
  • Support AP, AR, and fixed asset accounting as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist audits by preparing documentation and schedules.
  • Develop financial reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses.
  • Identify improvements to accounting processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.
  • Participate in system implementations and process improvements.

Job description

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and other departments to support the financial activities of a warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
  • Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cycle count analysis, and valuation adjustments.
  • Monitor manufacturing and warehouse transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Assist with standard costing, cost allocations, and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.
  • Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and special projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing costing preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
